Fei is one of the most interesting upcoming characters in Chaos Zero Nightmare. As a 5-Star Void Ranger, she does not play like a simple one-hit DPS. Her strength comes from deck cycling, 0 AP attacks, Descent stacking, and repeated Flame Dance follow-up damage.
Instead of using one big attack and ending the turn, Fei wants to prepare her deck, pull Flame Dance Melody cards into hand, then finish with Wildfire to trigger even more attacks from the Graveyard. This makes her a high-skill combo DPS who rewards careful planning.

Fei is best used as a setup-based damage dealer. She needs a few turns or a strong draw engine to get her full combo online. Once her deck starts moving properly, she can deal huge damage through repeated low-cost attacks.
Her biggest advantage is that many of her key actions cost 0 AP, giving her strong combo potential. Her biggest weakness is consistency. If the deck becomes too crowded with Flame Dance Melody cards and you cannot draw the right tools, her damage rhythm can slow down.
Fei’s whole kit revolves around Flame Dance Melody.
The basic idea is simple:
Use Exorcism Stance to shuffle Flame Dance Melody cards into the deck, generate Descent through extra draws, use Flame Dance Waltz to move Melody cards into your hand, then finish with Wildfire to trigger Melody cards from the Graveyard.
Her normal rotation looks like this:
|
Step |
Action |
|
1 |
Activate Exorcism Stance |
|
2 |
Use draw effects to gain Descent |
|
3 |
Cast Flame Dance Waltz |
|
4 |
Play Flame Dance Melody cards |
|
5 |
Use Wildfire as the finishing attack |
This means Fei is not a random button-mashing DPS. She needs hand control, draw timing, and AP planning.

Exorcism Stance
Exorcism Stance is Fei’s main setup card and should be treated as the start of her entire engine.
It is a 0 AP Upgrade card with Initiation, which means Fei can access it from the beginning of combat. After activation, it shuffles Flame Dance Melody cards into the deck and allows Fei to gain Descent whenever she draws cards outside the normal draw phase.
This card is mandatory for her build because without it, Fei cannot properly start her Flame Dance cycle.
Best use:
Always activate early
Pair with extra draw effects
Use before trying to build a burst turn
Flame Dance Waltz
Flame Dance Waltz is Fei’s key combo converter.
It moves Flame Dance Melody cards from the draw pile into your hand based on the amount of Descent gained during the current turn. The Melody cards moved this way also gain a temporary damage boost, making this card one of the most important pieces of her burst setup.
Do not use Flame Dance Waltz too early. If you have not gained enough Descent yet, the payoff will feel weak.
Best use:
Use after extra draw effects
Save for burst turns
Combine with Wildfire whenever possible
Flame Dance Melody
Flame Dance Melody is Fei’s main damage fuel.
Each Melody card costs 0 AP, which allows Fei to chain multiple attacks in one turn. On its own, a single Melody hit is not the most impressive attack in the game. The real value comes from playing several copies, buffing them through Flame Dance Waltz, and then triggering them again later through Wildfire.
This card is the reason Fei scales so well in longer fights.
Best use:
Play boosted Melody cards during burst turns
Send Melody cards to the Graveyard before Wildfire
Avoid clogging the deck without enough draw support
Wildfire
Wildfire is Fei’s main finisher.
It is an X AP attack, meaning the more AP you spend, the more hits it can deal. More importantly, each hit can trigger Flame Dance Melody from the Graveyard against the same target.
This is where Fei’s damage can become extremely high. If you have already played several Melody cards earlier in the turn, Wildfire can turn those discarded cards into extra follow-up attacks.
Best use:
Use after Melody cards enter the Graveyard
Spend more AP when possible
Save for bosses or high-HP enemies

Since Fei’s full official gear setup may still change, the safest build direction is to focus on stats that directly improve her multi-hit combo damage.
Recommended Stat Priority
|
Priority |
Stat |
|
1 |
Attack |
|
2 |
Critical Rate |
|
3 |
Critical Damage |
|
4 |
Void Damage / Attack Damage |
|
5 |
Extra Attack or Follow-up Damage |
|
6 |
Speed / Draw Support Utility |
Attack is her most reliable stat because every Flame Dance hit benefits from stronger base damage. Critical Rate and Critical Damage become very valuable because Fei attacks many times in one burst turn, giving her more chances to benefit from crit scaling.
If gear effects that improve extra attacks, follow-up damage, or low-cost attack cards are available, they should also be considered very strong on Fei. Her damage is not only from the played card itself, but also from repeated triggers and Graveyard interaction.
Gear Build Direction
For most players, Fei should be built as a full damage carry.
Recommended build style:
Main DPS gear
High Attack rolls
Crit-focused substats
Void damage bonus if available
Avoid defensive-only gear unless survival is a problem
Fei does not want to be built like a tank or utility support. Her job is to turn a prepared hand into a high-damage combo turn. If your gear does not improve that plan, it is probably not ideal.

Fei needs teammates who solve her two main problems: card consistency and survival.

Defensive Support or Healer |
This is the safest team structure for Fei.
A draw support helps Fei gain Descent faster and find her key cards more consistently. A healer or defensive unit keeps the team alive while Fei sets up her burst turn.
This team is best for players who want Fei to be the main carry.

Buffer / Debuffer |
This setup focuses more on damage.
A Void-focused teammate can help pressure the same enemy type, while a buffer or debuffer increases Fei’s burst value. This team works best when the fight does not require heavy defense.
Use this team for boss fights or stages where you can safely race damage.

Draw or Cost Reduction Unit |
This is probably the most comfortable Fei team for difficult content.
Fei needs time to set up Exorcism Stance, gain Descent, build the Graveyard, and prepare Wildfire. Defensive support gives her that time, while draw or cost reduction support keeps the deck moving.
This team is best for long fights and high-HP bosses.

A strong Fei turn should usually follow this rhythm:
First, activate Exorcism Stance early. Then use extra draw effects to build Descent. After that, use Flame Dance Waltz to pull Flame Dance Melody into your hand. Play the boosted Melody cards to deal damage and send them to the Graveyard. Finally, use Wildfire to trigger those Melody cards again for a large burst.
The most common mistake is using Wildfire too early. If there are not enough Melody cards in the Graveyard, Wildfire loses a lot of value.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
Excellent multi-hit damage
Strong boss-killing potential
0 AP card cycling
High combo ceiling
Great for players who enjoy planning turns
Weaknesses
Needs setup time
Deck can become crowded
Requires draw support
Harder to play than simple DPS units
Weak if key combo cards appear in the wrong order
Fei is a powerful but technical Void Ranger built around Flame Dance Melody, Descent stacking, and Wildfire burst turns. She is not the easiest DPS to play, but her ceiling is very high when the deck flows correctly.
Her best build focuses on strong damage gear, high Attack and Crit stats, and teammates who provide draw, AP efficiency, shielding, or enemy debuffs. If you enjoy combo-based characters and long multi-hit turns, Fei is one of the most exciting DPS units to build in Chaos Zero Nightmare.
