Genshin Impact – The Chalk Prince and The Dragon Update

Genshin Impact is a Gacha Based open-world RPG developed by miHoYo. The game features an exciting element-based combat system with an emphasis on character switching. It is arguable one of the most popular RPG games of 2020 due to its unique gameplay style and the plethora of content being released daily. One new update that has been released for the game is the Chalk Prince and The Dragon Update Version 1.2.

The update for Genshin Impact includes many new features, characters, quests, storylines, and the addendum of new items that will surely bring more interest to the game as time passes. The patch has a lot of new things that are worth mentioning and talking about.

Receive your free Primogems:

If you are an old Genshin Impact or were simply suffering from the downtime that occurred during the update, you will feel elated to know that the developers of the game have been generous enough to provide 300 free Primogems to every account that was made before the update. Moreover, more Primogems are also provided to characters that have been bugged for the update.

Do note that compensation is only available for travelers who have reached Adventurer Rank 5 for above, which is quite an easy Rank to get, so most of you will probably be getting it. You can look at your particular compensation and claim it by opening the inbox.

Start Collecting Resources in Dragonspire:

Dragonspire is the newest area added to Genshin Impact. There is a new sub-zero climate feature where Travelers will have to consider the Sheer Cold features that are being added. You will start losing HP if you do not constantly set up bonfires in Dragonspire. Moreover, constant snowstorms will further decrease the time it takes for you to die from the cold. So, always be vary of Sheer Cold’s accumulation in Dragonspire.

After you figure out this mechanic, you should head on to the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspire. There you can offer Crimson Agates, which you can collect from other areas of the map to get rewards from the Tree. This is a side quest but rewards you with quite a few valuable.
Moreover, you can also level the Frost Bearing Tree up, which will grand you with these rewards:

Two new 5-star characters are being added to the game. The first character is Kreideprinz Albedo, and he is a sword-wielder who does a massive amount of AoE DPS. He generates disabling zones and can buff allies extremely well. The ‘Secret Secretorum’ event is active right now in the game. If you complete this event quickly, there is a high chance you might unlock the character as the drop rate for the character has currently been increased significantly.

The second character you should look out for is also 5 starred and is known as Plenliune Ganyu. He wields a Bow and has a large amount of single target DPS, and offers mobility alongside slowing attacks, which are especially useful against nimble and agile foes. He hails from the land of Dragonspire, and you can get him in an event wish that will be revealed later on in the game. So, keep your eyes peeled for that.

Complete the Main Event:

To access the Main Storyline event for this update, you need first to complete Archon Quest Prologue: Act 2 and Albedo’s Story Quest ‘Princeps Cretaceus Chapter.”

After completing both, you gain access to the Chalk Prince and the Dragon. As soon as you enter the event, you are given a free sword called Festering Desire, which has many magical power abilities built into it. You then need to complete various random challenges present throughout the map.

These challenges provide you with Essence, which you can then claim to purchase different awards and items in the Event Shop. You need to be at least Adventurer Rank 40 for this event. It does not have a particular deadline, but currently, there is a higher chance of unlocking the new character Albedo if you do this event faster.

Complete all-new Side and World Quests:

The Side Quests and World Quests are perhaps the best addition to Genshin Impact this update. There are tons of new missions and storylines you can try out, all of them yielding different kinds of lucrative rewards. Most of the quests you will find, especially World Quests, will be based along the regions of Dragon Spire.

We recommend that you try getting the recipe for Goulash by completing the ‘Ah, Fresh Meat!’ side quest first. Consuming Goulash allows you and your party to reduce the effect of Sheer Cold on you for an hour, which helps you traverse the land of Dragonspire without constantly making bonfires.

Completing all these quests should let you get Mora as well. However, you need to complete all World Quests in Dragonspire to unlock the final quest that unlocks Mora. Moreover, you can also get more Primogems by exploring the new areas of Dragonspire as they provide you with a few random loots that are scattered throughout the region.

Genshin Impact’s new The Chalk Prince and Dragon Update is a welcome patch to the game. It adds a lot more flavor and introduces new mechanics like Sheer Cold that adds a sense of much-needed depth to the game.

The new characters are yet to be tried and tested properly, but they do definitely show a lot of potential and generally seem to be quite balanced and not over-powered in any way or form.

The game also has new Commission Quests, which you can always do if you are running low on a resource and do not have the time or energy to complete longer Side and World Quests. These can be found in the Dragonspire area, too, and are usually much simpler.
