Genshin Impact - Gorou Build Guide

With the new update comes new characters, and the Genshin Impact 2.3 version also brings two new characters for us to play with. Gorou, the long-awaited character, is now available for people worldwide to summon. He was introduced during the archon quest in the 2.0 version, and players have been wanting the cute canine character to be playable since. About Gorou

Gorou is a 4-star character with a Geo vision and bow as a weapon of his choice. He is the Watatsumi Army's brave and dependable general, a commander in whom his troops may always put their faith. Kazuha, who Gorou liberated, says in-game voice lines that "he's the type of person who speaks whatever is on his mind." He shares his subordinate's highs and lows, and he is never reluctant to wield his sword for the sake of a buddy." He, like Diona, is an anthropomorphic character with fox ears and a tail.

When it comes to gameplay, he's a geo support character, and it depends on the number of geo characters in your team. Pairing him with Albedo and Itto would make him a perfect fit.

As for the Ascension Materials, you'll need these set of items:

• 1 Sliver, 9 Fragments, 9 Chunks, 6 Gemstones- Prithiva Topaz

Gorou Skills and Abilities

Ripping Fang Fletching - Normal Attacks

• Normal Attack: Perform up to 5 consecutive shots with a bow.
• Charged Attack: Increase the DMG to perform a more precise Aimed Shot. Stone crystals will collect on the arrowhead as you aim. A fully charged crystalline arrow deals geo DMG.
• Plunge: In mid-air, fires a shower of arrows before falling and impacting the ground, inflicting AoE DMG.

Elemental Skill - Inuzaka All - Round Defense

Sets up a General's War Banner and deals AoE Geo DMG. Based on the number of Geo players in the party at the time of casting, provides up to three bonuses to active characters inside the skill's AoE:

1. Geo character: Adds the DEF bonus "Standing Firm."
2. Geo characters: Adds "Impregnable" - Increases interruption resistance.
3. Geo characters: "Crunch" is added as a Geo DMG bonus.

Gorou can only have one General's War Banner on the field at any given time. One General's War Banner can only be used by one character at a time. The active buff will continue for 2 seconds after a party member departs the field. Holding the elemental skill lets you position it on the field wherever you want.

Elemental Burst - Juuga: Forward Unto Victory

To encourage his comrades, Gorou uses his gallantry as a general to deal with AOE Geo DMG and create a field known as General's Glory. Buffs active characters within the skill's AoE are dependent on the number of Geo characters in the party, similar to the General's War Banner made by Inazuka All-Round Defense. Every 1.5 seconds, it will create a Crystal Collapse that gives AoE Geo DMG to one opponent inside its AoE. 

Within its AoE, it will draw elemental shards formed by the Crystallize Reaction to your active character. If a Generals Banner War has already been constructed, this ability will destroy it. Players cannot make a General's War-Banner when General's Glory is active.

Passive Talents

• Seeker of Shinies- On the mini-map, it shows the location of nearby Inazuma-specific resources.
• Heedless of the Wind and Weather- All party members' DEF is enhanced by 25% until the period of General's Glory finishes when using Juuga: Forward Unto Victory.
• A Favor Repaid- Based on his DEF, Gorou obtains the following DMG bonuses to his attacks: The Skill DMG of Inuzaka All-Round Defense is boosted by 156 percent of his DEF. The skill DMG and Crystal Collapse DMG of Juuga: Forward Unto Victory have been enhanced by 15.6 percent of DEF.

Constellations

1. Rushing Hound: Swift as the Wind- Every time other characters do damage during Gorou's Elemental Attack and Elemental Burst, the cooldown of Inazuka All-Round Defense will be reduced by 2 seconds.
2. Steady as a Clock- During General's Glory, every Elemental Shard from a Crystallize Reaction increases the duration of this elemental burst by 1 second, up to a maximum of 3 seconds.
3.  Mauling Hound: Fierce as Fire- Increases the Level of Inuzaka All-Round Defense by 3; max upgrade level is 15.
4.  Lapping Hound: Warm as Water- When General's Glory is in the "Impregnable" or "Shatter" states, it will heal the active character within its AoE for 50% of Gorou's own DEF every 1.5 seconds.
5.  Striking Hound: Thunderous Force- Increases the level of Juuga: Forward Unto Victory by 3, max upgrade level is 15.
6. Valiant Hound: Mountainous Fealty- When the General's War-Banner or General's Glory is currently offering buffs of the "Standing Firm," "Impregnable," or "Shatter" levels, the Crit DMG and Geo DMG dealt by all party members is enhanced by 10% /20% /40%.

Gorou Build Guide

Best Weapon

Since he's a supporting character, "FavoniusWarbow" would be a perfect option for Gorou. It's a 4-star weapon whose CRIT Hits have a 60% chance of generating a tiny amount of Elemental Particles, regenerating 6 Energy for the character. It can only happen once every 12 seconds.

If you want to use replacement weapons, you can always go for "Sacrificial Bow" or "Elegy for the End." A sacrificial bow after an Elemental Skill damages an opponent; the skill has a 40% chance of ending its CD. It only happens once every 30 years. Elegy for the end is not the best option and a little hard to master, but it increases Elemental Mastery by 60.

Best Artifact Set

Going for the support build, the best artifact sets for you to use would be a 2-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams and a 2-piece Emblem of Severed Fate. Their effects are perfect for Gorou, Defense, and Energy Recharge. If getting an Emblem set is difficult, you can go 4-piece Husk set as well. 

Husk of Opulent Dreams:

• 2-piece effect- DEF +30%
• 4-piece effect- The on-field character's Geo damage grants +6% 

DEF and +6% Geo damage in stacks of one every 0.3s, for a total of four stacks. One stack is gained every three seconds when off-field. The buff loses one stack every 6 seconds if no new stacks are gained.

Emblem of Severed Fate:

• 2-piece effect- Energy Recharge + 20%

As for the stats, you will need Def, Geo Damage Bonus, and Energy Recharge.

Conclusion

Gorou is a perfect character for a mono-geo team, and missing out on him wouldn't be the best. Since he's a 4-star character, his rates are much higher compared to Itto, and you have a chance of getting him from 10x summons. So if you're planning to summon for him, Good luck!
