The Taurus Cup (CM13) is the 13th Champions Meeting in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, with signups opening May 10, 2026 at 10 PM UTC and Round 1 starting on May 14. It runs on the Tokyo Turf 2,400m course, the same layout as the Japanese Derby, with left-handed turns on firm ground under sunny spring conditions. This guide covers everything you need to know: stats, skills, team comps, and support cards.

A few track features shape the entire CM13 meta. Late-race begins on the final corner, which means every corner-based acceleration skill is viable here. Three uphills run through the course, one right at the start of the race, and the final straight is long enough that Umas enter an extended dueling phase before the finish line. Dueling can only be entered with more than 15% HP remaining and ends when HP drops below 5%, so running out of stamina too early is a direct race loss on this track.
Green skills to prioritize: Left-Handed, Spring Runner, Firm Conditions/ Firm Course Menace, Standard Distance, Tokyo Racecourse, and Sunny Days.
Stamina is the top priority in CM13. The long final straight means your Uma needs enough HP to compete in the dueling phase, not just survive to it.

The 850+ Stamina target assumes at least one gold recovery. Front Runners should aim for higher stamina, while backliners can be slightly leaner. Medium S distance proficiency is mandatory.
Most styles are viable in CM13 since no single character dominates. Pace Chasers are at a disadvantage compared to other styles, as their acceleration options don’t offer anything exclusive. Front Runners are also slightly weaker than usual since the long final straight means an extended dueling phase and Front Runners naturally have a harder time there.

Acceleration:
Red Shift is the standout pick for every running style. The final corner lines up closely with the late-race start, and its lenient 1st–5th positional requirement makes it applicable across the board.
Beyond Red Shift, picks vary by style:
• Front Runners: Angling and Scheming
• Late Surgers and End Closers: Moving Past, and Beyond. This takes priority over Let’s Pump Some Iron!, which requires 6th place specifically.
• Pace Chasers: Nimble Navigator and No Stopping Me! can only be obtained through Yukino Bijin outside of Potentials, a relatively weak Wit SSR, so Nimble Navigator is the safer route if her card weakens your deck.

💡Avoid velocity skills that trigger specifically on the final corner — the Uma will still be accelerating when they fire, so the speed boost mostly goes to waste.
Velocity:
• Front Runners and Pace Chasers: Killer Tunes or Up-Tempo
• Late Surgers: Fast and Furious. 1,500,000 CC is also worth considering: it can activate at any of the three uphills, and since one occurs right at race start, there’s a one-in-three chance it fires at the gate and instantly breaks PDM.
• End Closers: Daring Strike

💡Triumphant Pulse is a strong inherit for the final straight across all styles.
Recovery:
• All styles: Corner Recovery or Swinging Maestro
• Front Runners: Moxie or Restless
• Pace Chasers: Hydrate or Gourmand
• Late Surgers: Be Still
• End Closers: After-School Stroll

2 Fronts + 1 Any is the safest starting point. Two Front Runners both have Angling and Scheming available and support each other’s early positioning. The third slot is flexible.
3 Late/End Closers has the highest ceiling if things go well. Getting one into 5th place at the start of late-race to combo Moving Past, and Beyond with Red Shift is hard to answer. The tradeoff is consistency, especially in lobbies full of debuffers who can push backliners out of position.
2 Aces + 1 Debuffer is the reliable middle ground. 1 Runaway + 2 Front/Pace also works well if you have a well-built Silence Suzuka, though she must be trained in Unity Cup rather than Trackblazer to unlock Runaway through secret events.
The standard deck for CM13 is 2 Speed + 2 Wit + 2 Flex. The flex slots can go toward Stamina cards for Umas without a built-in gold recovery, or Power cards and Riko Kashimoto SSR otherwise. Super Creek SSR is worth considering for Swinging Maestro access. A Guts-heavy deck running 1 Speed + 3 Guts + 2 Wit is also a legitimate option given how much dueling matters on the final straight.
Strong picks across all roles: Narita Top Road SSR for Firm Course Menace, Kitasan Black SSR, Fine Motion SSR, and Yaeno Muteki SSR. For End Closers, Mr. C.B. Wit is the top borrow for Daring Strike. Under Trackblazer, aim for at least 50 Race Bonus across your support cards.

Yes, but don’t expect CM12 results. She’s a reliable Pace Chaser with strong recovery synergy — just no longer race-defining.
Around 850+ with a gold recovery skill works for most builds. Without one, you will need around 1,000. Front Runners should lean toward the higher end; Late Surgers and End Closers can be slightly lower.
Red Shift. The final corner lines up very closely with the late-race start, and its wide 1st–5th positional requirement means almost every Uma can fire it.
