Gooseberry Student is part of the Gooseberry Planet Programme. It is a unique game app designed to teach children how to stay safe online. It comprises 50 short, scenario-based games and workbooks divided into 5 different age levels from 5-13 years.In each game, a character called Taff faces issues such as who to accept as a 'friend' online, how to create strong passwords through to issues of gaming, grooming and live streaming. The child attempts to help Taff make the right decisions by completing 4 questions in each game.
Within the school environment, a child will explore the issues with their teacher before attempting the game questions, but the app can also be used as a standalone game at home. There are workbooks that complement each game and reinforce the teaching.
