THERMODYNAMIC METHODOLOGY

All calculations are based on ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals (2021), Chapter 1 — Psychrometrics:
• Saturation Pressure: Magnus-Tetens formula (Tetens, 1930), valid from −50°C to +150°C
• Humidity Ratio: W = 0.62198 · Pv / (Patm − Pv)
• Enthalpy: h = 1.006·Tdb + W·(2501 + 1.86·Tdb) [kJ/kg da]
• Density: Ideal gas law for moist air (Hyland & Wexler, 1983)
• Dew Point: Inverse Magnus-Tetens formulation
• Altitude Pressure: ISA standard atmosphere model (ISO 2533:1975)
Inverse calculations use the Bisection Method with guaranteed convergence (max 60 iterations, Δ < 0.01 criterion). Every result is validated against physical constraints: RH ≤ 100.5%, W ≥ 0, and the temperature hierarchy Tdp ≤ Twb ≤ Tdb. Physically impossible states are explicitly rejected.
