Rita isn’t your typical “spend team AP, do big damage” DPS. She’s got her own little economy going on—think of her as a self-sufficient, time-bending stockbroker who generates her own AP through a system called Chronicle and Chronal Ascension. Mess it up, and she’ll feel clunky. Get it right, and she’ll absolutely delete bosses before they even know what hit them. Here’s everything you need to know to build Rita like a pro.

Before we talk builds, you need to understand Rita’s unique resource system. This is what separates the “she feels weak” crowd from the “she’s absolutely busted” crowd.
Chronicle is a buff that stacks whenever any card is played—by Rita or her teammates. For every 1 AP spent, Rita gains 1 Chronicle stack, capping at 6.
At the start of Rita’s turn, all Chronicle stacks convert into Chronal Ascension. This is her personal AP pool—she can use it to pay for her own cards, completely separate from your team’s shared AP. At the end of her turn, any unspent Chronal Ascension disappears, and she can start generating Chronicle again.
Here’s the kicker: while Rita has Chronal Ascension active, shecannotgain Chronicle. So the flow is:
This means timing is everything. You want to maximize Chronal Ascension generationbeforeRita acts, then dump it all into her nukes before it expires.

For memory fragments, we’re building around Rita’s strengths: she’s an attacker who scales hard with critical hits. Two sets stand out as the clear winners.
|
Set |
Pieces |
Effect |
|
Line of Justice |
4-Piece |
+20% Critical Chance for cards costing 2 or more |
|
Executioner’s Tool |
2-Piece |
+25% Critical Damage |
This combination is brutal. Line of Justice ensures her big nukes (which are all 2+ cost) land crits consistently. Executioner’s Tool makes those crits hit like a freight train. If you’re running Rita as your main DPS, this is your endgame setup.
If you’re still farming for the ideal crit sets, Beast’s Yearning (4-piece) is a solid placeholder. It increases Justice, Order, and Exhaust Attack Card damage by 30% (up to 5 times per turn) . It’s less consistent than stacking crit, but it’s easier to build early on.
When rolling substats, focus on :
Don’t forget the 800 ATK threshold—her last Potential node gives her a permanent 10% ATK boost at the start of battle if she hits this . It’s a huge buff, so make sure your Memory Fragments and gear push her over that line.
Rita’s kit revolves around a few key cards. Get these right, and the combo will flow like clockwork.

Chrono Archon is Rita’s Chronicle generation card—and it’s an Initiation card, meaning it starts in your opening hand. Base effect: whenever a card is activated, gain 1 Chronicle per cost of that card.
Epiphany I is the one you want . It adds: “When Chronal Ascension is removed, gain 3 Chronicle.” This creates the perfect loop—after Rita spends all her personal AP, she immediately gets half the Chronicle she needs for next turn. You go from needing to generate 6 Chronicle per cycle to only needing 3. It’sthatimpactful.

Time Axis Collapse is your main damage dealer. Base effect: 300% damage, plus 20% more damage for each combined cost of cards in your hand(max 200%) .
Epiphany I upgrades this to 450% base damage with the same scaling . That’s your boss-killer right there.
Alternative epiphanies worth considering:

Time Paradox(0 AP, Unique) lets you manually convert Chronicle to Chronal Ascension mid-turn . This is how you double-dip: generate Chronicle, convert it, spend it, then keep generating. The optimal loop with Chrono Archon I lets you effectively use Chronal Ascension twice in one turn.

Rita doesn’t need a team that feeds her AP—she needs a team thatcycles cardsandgenerates Chronicle stacksefficiently. Here’s the squad I’ve had the most success with.
For Rita, Ivy is the difference between “good” and “godlike.”

Ivy |
Haru |

Rita |
Ivy |
Nine |
Why Ivy? Her passive directly fuels Rita’s playstyle :
Her Ego Skill applies Illusory Erosion, a debuff that makes the target take 20% more damage from 2-Cost or higher Attack Cards. For Rita, who lives on her high-cost nukes, this is pure gold.
Budget alternative? If Ivy hasn’t come home yet, Eloise (4-star) is your next best bet . She boosts ATK and increases Attack Card damage, with additional scaling when cards are Exhausted. She won’t give you Ivy’s multiplicative goodness, but she’ll hold the line until the real deal shows up.

Nia |
Nine and Nia form a reliable core that keeps cards moving and Chronicle stacking without demanding too much AP from the team pool. If you’re running a more offensive setup, you can swap in Haru, whose cards help secure Chronicle while also contributing damage .

If you’re planning to invest in Rita’s Manifest Ego, here’s the breakdown :
|
Stage |
Effect |
Priority |
|
M1 |
Time Paradox gives 8 Chronal Ascension instead if Chronicle decreased by 6 |
★★★ |
|
M2 |
Gain Fate Distortion when gaining Chronal Ascension |
★★★ |
|
M3 |
Hour of Glory damage cap increased to 300% |
★・・ |
|
M4 |
Using 2+ cost cards grants Trace of Memory (5% damage, up to 6 stacks) |
★★・ |
|
M5 |
+3 levels to Basic, Unique, and Common Card Upgrade Potentials |
★・・ |
|
M6 |
First Chronal Ascension gain each battle +6; when removed, deals fixed damage per stack used |
★★・ |
The sweet spot is M2. M1 gives you a more efficient Chronicle-to-Chronal Ascension conversion. M2 adds Fate Distortion generation, which is a direct damage amp that synergizes perfectly with her burst windows. M4 and M6 are nice-to-haves but not essential unless you’re maining her long-term.

Hour of Glory(5 EP) gives 6 Chronal Ascension and increases the damage of her next Attack Card by 10% for each combined cost of cards activated during the battle (max 200%) . This scales over time, so use it late in fights when you’ve built up a high combined cost total. With M3, the cap goes to 300%.
Here’s the basic loop you’ll be running:
Pro tip: Save Ivy’s Ego Skill for the turn you’re about to drop your biggest Time Axis Collapse. Stack it with Fate Distortion if you have one, and watch the boss’s health bar evaporate.

Rita is one of those characters who feels complicated at first but clicks beautifully once you understand her rhythm. She’s not a brain-off DPS—you need to manage her Chronicle economy, time your conversions, and build your team around enabling her cycle. But when you get it right? She’s arguably one of the strongest single-target nukers in the game right now.
Now go break some timelines.
