Game Guides
Ruixiang is a 5★ Ranger Partner in Chaos Zero Nightmare. She is not a Combatant, so she does not have a normal combat deck, attribute damage type, or playable card rotation like Fei, Chizuru, or Renoa.
Her value comes from her Partner Passive and EGO Skill. More specifically, Ruixiang is designed for Combatants who can create Void Attribute Attack Cards in the Draw Pile. This makes her a very specialized Partner rather than a general damage option for every Ranger.
At the moment, her best and most natural pairing is Fei.

Void card-generation DPS teams |
Ruixiang should be understood as a signature-style Partner for Fei. She gives strong offensive buffs, but only reaches full value when the assigned Combatant can repeatedly create Void Attribute Attack Cards in the Draw Pile.
This is why she is powerful but not universal. If the assigned Combatant cannot trigger Gentle Aroma consistently, Ruixiang loses a large part of her value.

Ruixiang’s passive is called A Pleasant Aroma Lingers.
Her passive increases the assigned Combatant’s Attack by 16–24%. This is already useful, but the real strength comes from Gentle Aroma.
Whenever the assigned Combatant creates a Void Attribute Attack Card in the Draw Pile, Ruixiang gains 1 stack of Gentle Aroma. Each Gentle Aroma stack increases the assigned Combatant’s Damage Amount by 5–10%, up to 5 stacks.
Once Gentle Aroma reaches 5 stacks, the assigned Combatant also gains 20–40% Critical Damage.

This passive is the reason Ruixiang works so well with Fei. Fei can create Void attack cards in the Draw Pile, which directly activates Ruixiang’s stack mechanic.

Ruixiang’s EGO Skill focuses on drawing attack cards from the assigned Combatant.
The key part is that it becomes stronger when the drawn attack card has a cost of 0 or X. Since Fei commonly plays around low-cost cards, generated cards, and X-cost cards, this EGO Skill fits her gameplay very well.
In simple terms, Ruixiang helps Fei do two things:
|
Function |
Why It Matters |
|
Draw attack cards |
Helps continue Fei’s card loop |
|
Reward 0-cost or X-cost cards |
Matches Fei’s card structure |
|
Support burst turns |
Helps Fei reach more damage windows |
This EGO Skill is not the main reason to use Ruixiang, but it improves Fei’s consistency and makes her burst turns smoother.
Why Ruixiang Works Best with Fei
Fei is a 5★ Ranger Combatant with the Void attribute. Her kit revolves around generating Inferno Rhapsody cards, building Descent stacks, creating Heavensfall cards, and activating Flame Arts for extra attacks.
That is exactly why Ruixiang fits her.
Ruixiang wants the assigned Combatant to create Void Attribute Attack Cards in the Draw Pile. Fei’s Exorcist’s Formation creates Inferno Rhapsody cards in the Draw Pile, which makes her one of the few characters who can naturally activate Ruixiang’s passive.
The synergy is very direct:
|
Fei Mechanic |
Ruixiang Benefit |
|
Creates Inferno Rhapsody in Draw Pile |
Triggers Gentle Aroma |
|
Plays many attack cards |
Benefits from Damage Amount buffs |
|
Uses Flame Arts and extra attacks |
Scales well with damage buffs |
|
Builds around Crit stats |
Uses Ruixiang’s Critical Damage bonus well |
|
Needs strong burst windows |
Benefits from Ruixiang EGO draw support |
Because of this, Ruixiang should usually be assigned to Fei, not to a random Ranger.

Fei
Fei is the best Combatant for Ruixiang.
She uses the Void attribute and naturally creates Void attack cards in the Draw Pile. This means she can build Gentle Aroma stacks quickly and gain the full value from Ruixiang’s Attack, Damage Amount, and Critical Damage buffs.
If you are building Fei as your main DPS, Ruixiang is currently her best Partner choice.
Other Combatants
Ruixiang can theoretically work with any future Combatant who creates Void Attribute Attack Cards in the Draw Pile. However, unless that condition is met, she should not be considered a top Partner option.
Do not use Ruixiang only because she is a 5★ Partner. Her passive is very specific, and she needs the right Combatant to perform well.
Best Cards for Ruixiang and Fei Synergy
Ruixiang does not have her own playable cards because she is a Partner. The “best cards” here refer to the Fei cards that make Ruixiang stronger.
Exorcist’s Formation
This is the most important card for Ruixiang synergy.
Exorcist’s Formation creates Inferno Rhapsody cards in the Draw Pile. Since Fei is a Void Combatant and these generated cards are part of her attack loop, this card directly supports Ruixiang’s Gentle Aroma stacking.
Recommended versions include Exorcist’s Formation IV and V, depending on the build.

Inferno Rhapsody
Inferno Rhapsody is the generated attack card that powers Fei’s core loop.
It helps activate Flame Arts, gives Fei more attack pressure, and keeps her card engine moving. Because Ruixiang buffs Fei’s damage output, every Inferno Rhapsody activation becomes more valuable.

Blazing War Dance
Blazing War Dance moves Inferno Rhapsody cards to hand based on Descent gained during the turn.
This card does not replace Exorcist’s Formation, but it helps Fei actually use the cards she creates. For Ruixiang teams, this is important because creating cards is only the first step. You still need to draw and play them to convert buffs into real damage.

Soulfire Dance
Soulfire Dance is one of Fei’s major damage and combo cards.
Some versions help with drawing, Flame Arts, Descent, or extra attacks. This makes Soulfire Dance important for turning Ruixiang’s buffs into a real burst turn.

Night Rain
Night Rain helps Fei gain Flame Arts and improve consistency.
Night Rain IV is especially useful because it can move to hand at the start of the turn, making Fei’s rotation smoother. This helps reduce awkward turns where Fei has Ruixiang buffs but cannot properly continue her card chain.

Soliloquy
Soliloquy is mainly used for draw support.
Since Fei needs to cycle cards quickly, Soliloquy helps her find key pieces such as Inferno Rhapsody, Soulfire Dance, or X-cost cards. It also works well with Ruixiang’s EGO Skill direction, which rewards attack-card access and smoother draw flow.

Ruixiang should be assigned to Fei in all of these teams.

Fei + Ruixiang + Cassius + Mika is the safest general setup.
Fei acts as the main DPS, Ruixiang boosts her damage, Cassius helps with team utility, and Mika provides sustain. This team is easy to understand and works well if you want Fei to carry the fight without becoming too fragile.
Draw Support Team
Fei + Ruixiang + Cassius + Nia focuses more on card cycling.
This setup is better if you want Fei to reach her combo pieces faster. It can feel stronger in burst windows, but it may require better card planning.
Sustain Team
Fei + Ruixiang + Mika + Rei is a safer option for players who want more stability.
This is useful when Fei needs more time to build her loop and survive longer fights.
Ruixiang is one of the most specialized Partners in Chaos Zero Nightmare. Her correct identity is 5★ Ranger Partner, not a Combatant, and her value depends almost entirely on whether the assigned Combatant can create Void Attribute Attack Cards in the Draw Pile.
For Fei players, Ruixiang is an excellent Partner because she directly boosts Fei’s core damage loop. For everyone else, she is much more situational.
If you are building Fei as your main DPS, Ruixiang should be one of your highest Partner priorities.
