It is essential for the German Panzer Corps to seize Leningrad quickly before the Wehrmacht offensive is inevitably slowed down by the steady flow of Red Army reinforcements, worsening weather, the intricate logistics of fuel supply (which can be fully turned off from the settings), and terrain filled with forests and swamps.
Historical account: "German 1st Panzer Division was one of the first units to run into Soviet KV-tanks: Our companies opened fire at 800 yards, but it remained ineffective. We moved closer to the enemy, who for his part continued to approach us unconcerned. Soon we were facing each other at 80 yards. A fantastic exchange of fire took place without any visible German success. The Russian tanks continued to advance, armor-piercing shells simply bounced off them.
