How to play:
Techu is a 2 player game. Red vs Black. Aces are the highest ranked card.
There are 25 playable spaces on a 5×5 grid.
The player with the most spaces at the end of the game wins.
Rules:
Rule #1: Higher cards outrank lower cards.
Rule #2: Card played must connect back to the player’s own home row.
How to Start:
Split the deck into red & black. Pick a color and shuffle.
Each player draws the top 3 cards from their deck into their hand.
Both players play a card on the center space of their home row.
The player who plays the lowest ranked card gets the first turn in the game.
If both players play the same ranked card at the start of the game, each draws and plays again in their home row until a player prevails.
Continuing Play:
A player begins their turn by drawing 1 card into their hand, for a total of 3 cards.
A player can play their card on any space as long as Rule #1 and Rule #2 are followed.
Once a player places a card on the grid and reveals its rank, the turn is over and cannot be changed.
Winning the Game:
When both players are out of cards, the game is finished.
The player with the most spaces at the end of the game wins.
Common Q/A:
A player can always discard rather than play on a turn.
A player can play on their own card as long as Rule #1 and Rule #2 are followed.
Same-rank cards cannot be played on each other.
A card must connect to it’s home in vertical & horizontal directions (not diagonally).
