Pokémon Champions Regulation M-B – Overview

Regulation M-B is the second major competitive ruleset in Pokémon Champions, running from June 17, 2026, to September 2, 2026. This season will be used for both in-game Ranked Battles and official VGC tournaments, including the 2026 World Championships.

The M-B ruleset introduces a massive roster expansion, bringing a variety of new Pokémon to the Pokémon Champions tier list and powerful Mega Evolutions into the competitive scene while retaining all Pokémon that were available during the previous Regulation M-A season. This gives players even more options to experiment with team building and battle strategies. In addition, several brand-new held items have been added to shake up the meta and create fresh gameplay opportunities for all players.

Pokémon Champions Regulation M-B follows the same basic structure as Regulation M-A but also includes Pokemon champions Regulation MB new pokemon. Therefore, you will be able to continue using your favorite teams and test new combinations with latest additions.

The following are the rules of Pokémon Champions Regulation M-B:

  • Battle Format: Regulation M-B is compatible with Singles and Doubles matches. In Singles format, teams will feature 3 to 6 Pokémon, whereas, in Doubles, teams consist of 4 to 6 Pokémon.
  • Level Cap: In all competitive fights under Regulation M-B, each Pokémon will be automatically set to level 50, ensuring fair and balanced battles.
  • One Mega-Evolution per Team: A team may only Mega-Evolve one Pokémon in each fight. The Pokémon will need its respective Mega-Stone. Mega-Evolution enhances a Pokémon's stats; sometimes, it can even change a Pokémon’s Ability or typing, making it a powerful strategic option.
  • Species Clause: Only one of the same Pokémon species is allowed per team. It promotes diversity and encourages creative team-building.
  • Item Clause: Each Pokémon must have an exclusive item. You cannot assign the same item to different Pokémon on your team.
  • Banned Pokémon and Restrictions: There are some prohibited Pokémon in Regulation M-B competitions such as Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, Paradox Pokémon, and other specially restricted Pokémon. The main purpose of these bans are to keep the competition level fair and enjoyable for all.
