Yo, Saviors! Welcome back to the grind. Gear isn’t just about big numbers. It’s about efficiency, resource management, and knowing exactly when to invest and when to hold back. Whether you’re fresh out of Chapter 4 or already farming Subjugation Operations for T2 pieces, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know—from picking the right sets to enhancing like a pro and avoiding those painful early-game mistakes that’ll make you cry over wasted enhancement stones.
Let’s dive in.
Before we talk about sets or stats, you need to understand the two-tier system Star Savior runs on. This is probably the single most important thing to internalize, because messing this up will drain your resources faster than a gacha banner drains your wallet.
Tier 1 (T1) gear is what you’ll get from the very beginning. It’s totally fine for clearing early Mainstream stages, but here’s the golden rule: do NOT over-invest in T1.
Tier 2 (T2) gear unlocks when you clear Mainstream Stage 14 (some folks say Stage 15, but 14 is the safe bet). This is the tier that endgame content is balanced around. Once you unlock T2 crafting, shift your focus immediately. Your enhancement stones, your imprint materials, your everything—it should all start flowing into T2 gear for your core four Saviors.
Think of it this way: T1 is your starter apartment. It gets the job done, but you’re not gonna renovate the kitchen. T2 is your forever home. That’s where you invest.

Star Savior has six equipment slots, and unlike some other gacha games where you’re fishing for the perfect main stat on boots or body pieces, this game actually makes thingseasierfor you. Most slots have fixed main stats, which means less RNG and more time actually building your characters.
Here’s the breakdown:
|
Slot |
Main Stat Priority |
|
Weapon |
ATK (DPS) / HP or DEF (Tank/Support) |
|
Armor / Gloves |
ATK% or DEF% / HP% (role dependent) |
|
Shoes |
Speed— non-negotiable |
|
Necklace |
Speed— equally non-negotiable |
|
Ring |
ATK% (DPS) / HP% (Tank/Support) |
Speed is king. I cannot stress this enough. In a turn-based game, more speed means more turns, more turns mean more damage, more shields, more debuffs—basically, more of everything that wins fights. A Speed advantage lets you drop your ultimates before the enemy does, apply debuffs before they get their shields up, and cycle through Break windows faster.
If you ever get an Equipment Selection Box (and you will, from Mainstream stages like 5-28 and 8-40), always grab a Speed Necklace first unless you already have a couple sitting in your inventory. Speed Necklaces are notoriously hard to come by naturally, and they’re the single most impactful piece you can target.

Alright, let’s talk sets. Star Savior gives you a handful of options, but realistically, you’re going to be rotating between three main sets for most of your progression. The farming priority is simple: Motivator → Wendigo → Perseus.
Best for: Everyone in early game; Attack-focused Saviors in mid game.
Motivator is your bread and butter. It’s the Attack% set, and it’s the safest universal investment you can make early on. The four-piece bonus directly boosts your damage output, and since pretty much every DPS wants more attack, you really can’t go wrong here. Even tanks and supports can run two-piece Motivator while you’re still farming better options.
Farming tip: Don’t stress about getting all orange-quality pieces right away. Focus on matching the set effect first. A full four-piece blue Motivator set will outperform mismatched legendaries with no synergy.
Best for: Damage dealers (Strikers, Casters, Assassins).
This is where the big damage comes from. Insight gives you Crit Rate and Crit DMG synergy, and once you have enough Crit Rate to consistently land crits, this set pulls ahead of Motivator by a mile.
Characters like Luna and Muriel absolutely want Insight with Speed-focused setups, especially in PvP. Assassins in particular love this set—Trish Arcana’s skill set gives her bonus Crit Chance, which makes Insight even more efficient.
Pro tip: If your DPS has naturally high Crit Rate from their kit or substats, Insight becomes exponentially better. Don’t sleep on this set once you hit mid-game.
Best for: High-Crit-Rate DPS (especially Claire with Destruction variant); Tanks and Supports running HP or Barrier setups.
Perseus is more specialized. For DPS, you’re usually looking at the Destruction variant—this works specifically with units like Claire who have high natural Crit Rate, turning that extra crit chance into massive damage spikes.
For tanks and supports, Perseus drops HP and Barrier sets that are excellent for survivability. The Necklace should be Speed (always), and the Ring should be HP% for your frontline units.
Omega is a bit of a flex pick. Most Omega builds run Insight + Tenacity, and honestly, Precision and Attack sets perform so similarly in practice that you can just use whichever drops. The “3-Hit set” setup is really only realistic for spenders who can afford to chase specific substats.
As for Destruction, I mentioned it above—it’s a Perseus variant that’s basically made for Claire. If you’re running her, prioritize this set. If not, you can safely focus on Insight and Motivator.

Farming in Star Savior revolves around Subjugation Operations. This is your dedicated equipment mode, and you’ll want to run it daily.
Enhancement is where most of your resources go, and it’s also where most players make their biggest mistakes. Let’s break it down.
Sub-stats increase every 3 levels (+3, +6, +9, +12, +15). That means a +0 piece with three good substats is way more valuable than a +15 piece with flat stats you don’t need.
Your enhancement resources should follow this priority:
|
Slot |
T1 Enhancement Target |
T2 Enhancement Target |
|
Weapon, Gloves, Armor |
+3 to +6 only |
+9 or higher |
|
Shoes |
+9 to +15 (if Speed main stat) |
+15, max priority |
|
Necklace |
+9 to +15 (if Speed main stat) |
+15, max priority |
|
Ring |
+9 to +15 (if ATK%/HP%) |
+15 for core carries |
Never take T1 Weapon, Gloves, or Armor past +6. The stat gains aren’t worth the material cost, and you’ll regret it when you’re scraping for stones to upgrade your T2 pieces later.
If you absolutely must enhance a T1 piece to +15, only do it for:
If the main stat is wrong, don’t take it past +3. I know it’s tempting to max out that legendary piece you just pulled, but resist. Future you will thank you.
Main stats get you in the door, but substats determine how far you go. Here’s what to chase for each role:
Priority: Crit Rate → Crit DMG → ATK% → Speed
Once you hit around 70-80% Crit Rate, shift your focus to Crit DMG. Speed substats are nice for PvP, but for pure PvE, you can deprioritize them if your boots and necklace already give you enough.
Priority: HP% → DEF% → Effect RES → Speed
Effect RES is huge here. You don’t want your tank getting frozen or stunned and leaving your backline exposed. A tank with high Effect RES is way more valuable than one with slightly more HP.
Priority: HP% → Speed → Effect ACC → DEF%
Effect ACC ensures your cleanses and heals actually land when they need to. Speed keeps your supports moving early, so you can get shields up before the boss drops its ultimate.
The Imprint system lets you extract a substat from one piece of gear and slap it onto another. It’s basically your “fix-it” button for pieces that are almost perfect.
Key rules:
Imprint materials are limited, so be intentional. One perfect piece is better than five decent ones.
Let’s wrap this up with the top five mistakes I see players make—and how to avoid them:
Multi-instance + Sync: Create multiple instance and execute the same operation simultaneously, upgrade your kingdom quickly
Ultra-Wide Screen: Get a full view of the battlefield and seize the strategic opportunities.
Keyboard Mapping: Constructe buildings, place combat units and release skills more convenient and accurately
Landscape: Widen vertical screen by landscape, with a wider field of view and smoother operation for SLG games.
Building gear in Star Savior isn’t complicated, but it is punishing if you go in blind. The key takeaways are simple: prioritize Speed main stats on Shoes and Necklace, focus your farming on Motivator first, and don’t burn resources on T1 pieces that won’t matter in two weeks.
Your progression is a marathon, not a sprint. Make smart choices now, and you’ll breeze through Mainstream content while everyone else is stuck wondering why their +15 T1 Attack% Shoes aren’t carrying them through Stage 14.
Now go hit those Subjugation Operations, grab those Speed Necklaces, and start building Saviors that actually perform. Happy grinding, Saviors. See you in the next one.
