Enable Virtualization Technology (VT) on HP desktop and laptop

This article will talk about how to enable VT on HP desktop and laptop through BIOS.

 

  • 1. Enable VT for HP motherboard   
  • 2. Enable VT on HP desktop 
  • 3. Enable VT on HP laptop 

 

1. Enable VT for HP motherboard

STEP 1

Restart the computer. When the screen is on, press the key prompted on the screen repeatedly. If there is no prompt, try pressing the "F9" or "F10" key repeatedly to enter BIOS.

STEP 2

"Security" > "System security" > "Virtual Technology", press the "→" key to switch from Disable to Enable, and then press the "F10" key to accept the change.

Click the "File" menu and select "Save Changes and Exit" and finally click "Yes".

 

2. Enable VT on HP desktop

Restart the computer. When the screen is on, press the key prompted on the screen repeatedly. If there is no prompt, try pressing the "F9" or "F10" key repeatedly to enter BIOS.

“Advanced Chipset Features” > “Virtualization Technology", switch from "Disabled" to "Enabled" by pressing the "Enter" key, and finally press "F10" to save and exit.

3. Enable VT on HP laptop

Restart the computer. When the screen is on, press the key prompted on the screen repeatedly. If there is no prompt, try pressing the "F9" or "F10" key repeatedly to enter BIOS.

STEP 2

“Advanced” > “System Options" > Virtualization Technology(VTx), check the boxes next to Virtualization Technology (VTx) and Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VTd), and finally press "F10" to save and exit.
